Learning begins at birth, and a child’s learning and development at each stage of life forms the foundation for the next. During the first five years, we know that children experience more rapid brain development and acquire more skills and knowledge than in any other period in their lives. It is for this reason that we at Mission Australia Early Learning so passionately believe in the importance of investing in these formative years.
By instilling a love of learning now, and into their future, we’re helping Australia’s youngest citizens reach their full potential.
Working with families, communities and society as a whole, we’re giving all children an opportunity to thrive, and in doing so we’re building stronger communities around Australia. Join us in EMBRACING OUR FUTURE.
What informs our unique approach?
Well, to be precise, it’s four things. Each, we believe, equally important to the health, happiness and successful development of every child:
The first is ‘education’. With a model that has been shaped by the knowledge of experienced Early Childhood professionals, Mission Australia Early Learning receives some of the highest rankings and recognition in Australia. We are perfectly placed to provide a learning environment that gives each child the best chance of a brighter future.
Next is ‘community’. And as the word implies, it’s all about our focus on ensuring that our centres are genuinely integrated into their local area, meeting local needs and supporting local parents. Not to mention, fostering a stronger community spirit. After all, we share the belief that it ‘takes a village to raise a child’.
Of course, you can’t have a healthy mind without healthy body. So ‘nutrition’ is a fundamental aspect to our method. Food provided at all centres meet national nutritional guidelines and is appropriate to the age, culture, religion or medical needs of children enrolled. This is food that they will feel good about and, equally importantly, their parents will too.
Completing our unique approach is what we call ‘environment’. It’s based on our long-standing conviction that grass, trees and sunshine, rather than walls, make for the best learning experiences. In short, we always strive to nurture through our nature, as much as possible.
Every Mission Australia Early Learning centre features an outdoor area to immerse children in the magic of the natural world, as they learn, play, interact and develop.
Together, these four pillars inform every decision we make and every action we take in caring for children in communities across Australia.
We apply them consistently and in unison to form an approach aimed at enabling each and every child in our care, the best possible chance of achieving their full potential.
As an organisation that is more familiar than most with the concerns of mums, dads and wider communities, we appreciate that it’s never just one child that we’re caring for and nurturing… rather, with each new little one admitted to one of our centres around Australia, we’re EMBRACING OUR FUTURE.
